The management of the Vicente del Bosque Football Academy, together with Don Vicente del Bosque himself, presented this morning at FITUR two international events of great relevance: the Mallorca International Women’s Tournament, to be held from April 17 to 20, and the Mallorca International Football Cup Vicente del Bosque, which will take place from June 20 to 25 in the municipality of Calvià, Mallorca. In addition, the Academy’s nationwide programs have been announced, especially with the 2025 campuses.
The event took place at the stand of the Balearic Islands and was attended by the president of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, and the mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, among other authorities of the island. Also, it has had the privilege of receiving the visit of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain and the Mayor of Madrid, Mr. José Luis Martínez-Almeida, who have come to greet Mr. Vicente del Bosque and the Academy’s management.
In 2025, the Academy is strengthening the promotion of its events, holding its second presentation event at FITUR. This promotional effort began in January with its participation in the USA United Coaches Convention in Chicago, which took place from January 8 to 12. In February, they will continue their tour in Florida and Las Vegas (USA), and in March they will once again present their events at the national level in Madrid, at the headquarters of Banco Santander.
Since its creation in 2011, the Vicente del Bosque Football Academy has established itself as a sports training project based on values, with the participation of more than 18,500 athletes of 28 nationalities. During the event, the authorities highlighted the strategic importance of initiatives such as these, which not only boost tourism and sports development, but also generate a positive economic impact and improve the international projection of the destination.
Support for these activities is based on data provided by the Academy, which demonstrate the value they bring to the territory. In addition, the figure of Don Vicente del Bosque, with his outstanding career and prestige, adds a component of excellence that reinforces its identity as a preferred destination for top-level sporting events.
Within the framework of international tournaments, a synergy is fostered between strategic planning, the experience demonstrated by the Academy and the positive influence of personalities such as Vicente del Bosque, promoting the sustainable development of the island and its positioning in tourism and sports.
The third international edition, held in April and June 2024, brought together more than 100 teams from 12 countries, attracting close to 6,000 people, including players, coaches, technical staff, family members and supporters.
Vicente del Bosque underscored the Academy’s firm conviction that sport and its fundamental values are key drivers for promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.
